What a cross country season it was for freshman Sarah Baxter of Simi Valley. She was selected the Gatorade California girls’ cross country runner of the year.
She won the Division I state champonship with a time of 16:57, the third-fastest time in course history. She went unbeaten this fall and also has a 3.39 grade-point average.
