There was never a moment in Thursday’s Western League game where Westchester was challenged by Fairfax. That’s how dominant the Comets were in a 67-40 victory that raised their record to 15-5 overall and 3-0 in league. Fairfax dropped to 10-4 and 2-1.

Westchester relied on balanced scoring, depth and strong defense to rout the host Lions, who played without one of their leading scorers, Brendyn Taylor, who was declared ineligible by the CIF earlier in the week.

Trevone Williams, a 6-foot-6 senior, led Westchester with 15 points. Joshua Wilson had 11 points.

Landon Drew and Laik Carter led Fairfax with 11 points apiece.

In the Southern Section, Chatsworth Sierra Canyon knocked off North Hollywood Campbell Hall, 60-53.
