Boys’ basketball: Price starting to play like a championship team

Los Angeles Price won its seventh consecutive game on Saturday, knocking off La Verne Lutheran, 80-65, in a matchup of defending state champions at the University of La Verne in the California Elite Showcase.

Norvel Pelle contributed 20 points, eight rebounds, four blocks and five dunks for the Knights (16-5). Skylar Spencer had eight points and four blocks. Price received strong guard play from Askia Booker (16 points), Derrick Twiggs (13) and Chance Murray (12).

Bruce English led Lutheran (11-4) with 19 points. Grant Jerrett had 15.
