Boys’ basketball: L.A. University rallies to beat Palisades

With second place in the Western League on the line, L.A. University overcame a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat Palisades, 69-68, on Wednesday. David Nwaba scored 27 points for University (20-5, 5-1), which is on its way toward gaining the No. 1 seed for the City Section Division II playoffs.

Palisades dropped to 11-11 and 4-2 with another close defeat.

In the West Valley League, Reseda Cleveland defeated Woodland Hills El Camino Real, 70-65. Woodland Hills Taft defeated Granada Hills, 79-40, with Kevin Johnson scoring 18 points.

In the Valley Mission League, Granada Hills Kennedy improved to 15-8 and 8-0 with a 58-48 win over Sylmar. It was Kennedy’s 11th consecutive victory.
