If there’s really going to be competition for Woodland Hills Taft in the West Valley League, it will come either Wednesday against Woodland Hills El Camino Real or Friday against Reseda Cleveland, both Taft home games. More than likely, the Toreadors are going to crush their two opponents.

Led by point guard Spencer Dinwiddie, Taft (14-2) remains the City Section Division I title favorite even though a two-game stretch last month in which the Toreadors lost to Ohio St. Edward and Corona Centennial in close games showed they can be beaten.

The key is to keep improving, because winning a City title isn’t Taft’s only goal. The Toreadors want to do well in the state playoffs, and a powerful Division I tournament that should include Long Beach Poly, Centennial, Etiwanda and Mater Dei is looming.
