Van Nuys Grant opened a 13-point halftime lead and was never threatened in knocking off defending East Valley League champion Verdugo Hills, 77-62, to improve to 4-0 in league.

The Lancers held 6-8 center Chris Dees to eight points as Verdugo Hills dropped to 11-8 and 3-1. Grant (9-10) received 23 points from Gurgen Harutyunyan, including 18 in the first half. Travon Thomas added 20 points.
