The Western League heats up this week, with Fairfax and Westchester playing on Thursday night at Fairfax.

Fairfax (9-3) has suddenly become one of the top four teams in the City Section after the arrival of junior guards Landon Drew (Taft) and Brendyn Taylor (View Park), both of whom gained eligibility in long-shot attempts without moving.

Taylor has played in seven games and become one of the team’s top scorers. Drew was the MVP of a tournament in Canada.
