Boys' basketball: Cezar Guerrero is Mr. Entertainer

There's no basketball player in Southern California who can put on a show quite like senior guard Cezar Guerrero of Bellflower St. John Bosco.

In his latest performance, Guerrero scored 41 points and made a jump shot with less than 20 seconds left while running down the clock to break a 65-65 tie and lift the Braves past Orange Lutheran, 68-65, in a Trinity League game Tuesday at Orange Lutheran.

The Lancers (15-5, 3-1) saw their seven-game winning streak come to an end. St. John Bosco (17-4, 2-2) led by as  many as nine points in the second half.  Guerrero made 14 of 26 shots. He scored 46 points earlier this season against Santa Ana Mater Dei. Gabe York had 24 points and James Douglas 21 points for Orange Lutheran.

Guerrero didn't play last season after transferring back to St. John Bosco from Workman. But Coach Chris Madigan has given him the green light, and Guerrero will do just about anything to entertain.

Lewis, if you are going to make immature and classless comments, at least get your facts straight. First of all I made a few comments about Bosco football early on, before week zero, and then stopped participating on the blog because of low class comments being made by people like you (and I’m glad to see that your type are still out there being miserable). So I didn’t go “crazy about the Bosco football team.” I think “crazy describes you and your type well though. Another example of you running your mouth while ignoring facts is that Bosco’s football team was never “abused” by any team last season. Their most one-sided loss was to Lakewood, 27 – 7. And if you take away the muffed punt inside the 10 at the end of the 3rd quarter the final could have been different – the score was 14 – 7 at that point (wow, real abusive – LOL!). As far as league it was a disappointing season that ended with a 1 and 4 record. That said, why don’t you personally call Servite, SM, and MD and ask them if they “abused” Bosco and see what their opinion is on that issue. The average margin of each loss was 6 pts.; again, that’s really abusive. Finally, you don’t know my son or a thing about him so stop the low life attacks on him. Adults who pick on and single out kids in a negative way are spineless! It’s a low class act and I feel sorry for you dude.

ES: maybe you can talk to Knoblauch about placing Bosco in the top 25. I think they've shown they deserve a spot when you consider that they have a better record than 12 of the teams listed, including 14th ranked O-Lu who they just beat last night. You know come to think of it, these rankings are messed up in many ways.
