Girls’ basketball: Moriah Faulk is putting up big numbers for Santa Monica

Moriah Faulk scored 23 points, Brianna Harris had 15 and Kristina Johnson and Bianka Balthazar each added 14 to help Santa Monica defeat St. Bernanrd, 78-41, in the Inglewood City of Champions tournament on Thursday.

Santa Monica jumped to a 23-4 first quarter lead and continued to dominate throughout the remainder of the game. Lajahana Drummer led St. Bernard with 18 points.

Santa Monica will play Sierra Canyon on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Morningside in a platinum bracket semifinal. St. Bernard will play View Park at 4:30 p.m. at St. Bernard in a platinum bracket consolation game.
