Girls' basketball: Mater Dei breezes through opening round

Mater Dei, ranked No. 3 in the Southland by The Times, defeated Washington (D.C.) Woodson, 61-39, on Tuesday in the opening-round of the Title IX Holiday Classic in Washington D.C. 

Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis led the Monarchs with 26 points. Kiki Alofaituli had 13 and Jordan Adams added 12.
