Football: Showing support for a teammate

At the Westlake football banquet, kicker Alex Ball received an emotional standing ovation. Ball missed on a 41-yard field goal with one second left in the Northern Division final against Oaks Christian that could have won the game.

But it was also Ball who helped beat St. Bonaventure the week before, and Westlake players and parents didn’t let him forget.

Also, receiver Nelson Spruce has received a scholarship offer from Colorado and could be close to making a college decision.
