Football: It's a showdown of receivers

Perhaps the two best receivers in the City Section are facing off on Friday night in a Division I semifinal at Carson.

Junior Darreus Rogers of Carson and senior Mike Thomas of Woodland Hills Taft are future college players with size, strength and big-play abilities. If a defense can prevent touchdowns from either player, that could be the difference.

Thomas has obliterated the school records for receiving at Taft. He has 86 catches for 1,656 yards and 21 touchdowns. Rogers usually plays well in the big games for the Colts, and this is the biggest game yet.

Carson or Nothing

Taft has a better chance of winning the lottery

Darreus Rogers is a very good game changing player but Carson also has very good recieving threats in tight end Domonique Bierra and reciever Ronald Langdon. These two players can make big plays and might be the suprise players in this game.

Nice To See A Good Game

As I said earlier, there will be a bunch of surprises that will be evident immediately before the game. You'll get what I mean then.

That being said, I can say that the Taft players fully expect to win.

no go

he aint even playing!!!

Colt Stampede

The more I analyze this game it's evident that the if Thomas gets contained Taft may struggle against the Colts fast defense. Carson has a more balanced offense and the RB Willis is a real threat to go along with the dangerous WR Rogers! Another advantage for Carson is the fact that the QB Alo is a real dual threat who has proven it all season while Taft's Bercovici is very slow and may not be much faster than the Colts D Lineman. Can Taft run on Carson? I'm eager to see who is the more impressive WR tomorrow and which team wants it more.Cal Preps loses credibility when you really look at their rankings.

Nice To See A Good Game

A lot of surprises are going to happen before Friday's game.

Carson or Nothing

DJ Rogers has 15 TDs on 38 receptions. He is simply a beast! Thomas is very good too. Tafts offense is explosive but Carson has DB's and are good at bringing pressure. Taft is favored by calpreps to win 35-34. However, Carson is clicking and wont lose to Taft at home.
