For some reason, Carson was made the No. 1 seed in the City Section Division I playoffs. Oh, the Colts certainly played a tougher schedule than No. 2 Crenshaw, but if you asked any City coach which team you did not want to play, they’d choose Crenshaw.

So now the Colts are about to find out what it’s like to play Crenshaw in next Saturday’s championship game at 1 p.m. at the Coliseum.

And I don’t think the Cougars are going to be in a kind mood. They took it as a slap in the face not to be seeded No. 1 after winning the City title last season.

And the way they have been destroying opponents of late tells me Carson is going to face a very difficult challenge just to stay close.

The good news is that it should be sunny, with no rain forecast, which should produce a good crowd to see the final high school game for Crenshaw’s outstanding running back-defensive back De’Anthony Thomas, who always tries to put on a show at the Coliseum.

Let’s see how Carson Coach Elijah Asante is going to deal with a motivated Crenshaw team.
