Football: George Farmer commits to USC

The most dramatic thing that happened all day at Gardena Serra might have been before kickoff of the Cavaliers' 35-10 victory over Arroyo Grande in the Western Division championship when star Cavaliers receiver George Farmer called USC Coach Lane Kiffin to tell him he was becoming a Trojan.

"I'm coming in to win national championships," Farmer said after catching two passes, including a 59-yard touchdown, to help Serra win a second consecutive section title.

Farmer acknowledged that the recruiting process had become stressful, particularly the seemingly endless home visits, and said he was relieved that it was over. Asked why he figured he would contend for a national title at a school coming off back-to-back down years by its standards, Farmer said, "We've got a lot of talent there, a lot of five-star athletes. We're going to come in and do our thing and hopefully the sanctions won't mess us up."

Farmer will be reunited with USC receiver Robert Woods, who had paired with Farmer last season to help the Cavaliers win a state title.

"It's big, what we did here at Serra," Farmer said, "but it's going to be even bigger when we do it in college."

Welcome aboard George!!!! With you Robert Woods and Markeith Ambles plus Blackmon signing....we will be set on receivers for awhile!

Hopefully Marqise Lee will come also. Now if we just get a solid bunch of Olinemen and Linebackers that should help.

A GREAT DAY TO BE A TROJAN. We just got a great player, and we need a player that can go get the ball. Because our quarterback keeps throwing into double coverage and missing guys wide open. FIGHT ON !

We just need lee!!!!
