Football: Folsom triumphs in Division II state bowl
Let the celebration begin...
The final seconds have ticked off the clock and Folsom players are taking turns hydroplaning on the slick, rain-drenched field at Home Deport Center after their impressive 48-20 romp over Gardena Serra in the Division II state bowl.
The Bulldogs led 21-20 at halftime and still clung to that one-point lead entering the fourth quarter before exploding for 27 points--including 20 in a span of 28 seconds--to give Northern California its third win in the four bowl games played so far.
Only the Open game remains, in which Southern Section Pac-5 champion Anaheim Servite will look to salvage some pride for the Southland by taking down North Coast Section Division I powerhouse Concord De La Salle.
