Football: Crenshaw’s big men loom large

Yes, Crenshaw has lots of speed, which makes the Cougars the team to beat on Saturday at the Coliseum against Carson in the City Section Division I championship game.

But the strength of Crenshaw could be its big men up front. The Cougars have dominated on the offensive and defensive lines in recent weeks, and that’s where Carson is going to have to bare down.

Marcus Martin, an offensive lineman who committed to USC, has emerged as the No. 1 blocker in the City Section. And Crenshaw’s defensive line, led by three-year starter James Brock, has been effective rushing passers and stopping the run.
