Boys’ basketball: Pelle returns to spark Price past Compton

Norvel Pelle, a 6-foot-9 senior who sat out all of last season after transferring from Compton Dominguez, made his debut for Los Angeles Price on Monday and scored 14 points while grabbing 15 rebounds to help the Knights defeat No. 10 Compton, 66-57, in a nonleague game at Price.

Askia Booker led Price (4-1) in scoring with 16 points and Kenny Green added 12.

In a Coliseum League opener, Crenshaw got 25 points from Isaac Hamilton and 17 points from Darnell Taylor in an 81-65 victory over View Park Prep.

Woodland Hills El Camino Real defeated Newhall Hart, 57-48. Etiwanda defeated Vista Murrieta, 88-48, in the Inland Empire tournament.
