Baseball: Marlins loaded with top prospects from SoCal
Baseball America has come out with its top 10 prospects in the Florida Marlins organization, and Southern California natives are well represented.
No. 1 is ex-Chatsworth third baseman Matt Dominguez. No. 3 is ex-Westlake infielder Chris Yelich. No. 6 is ex-Riverside Patriot catcher Kyle Skipworth. And No. 10 is ex-Pasadena Poly and UCLA pitcher Rob Rasmussen.

The Marlins also have Mike Stanton from Sherman Oaks Notre Dame as their starting right fielder and Bryan Peterson from Chatsworth/UC Irvine as their fifth outfielder. Stanton is so talented that he could be an all-star as early as this year or next year. Dominguez may actually earn a starting position this year - they have pretty much gotten rid of all of their better third basemen.
In a matter of months, they could have Stanton, Dominguez, and Peterson on their active roster, with Yelich joining the group in two to three years. Skipworth and Rasmussen are 2-3 years away from joining their pitching staff.
