Girls’ volleyball: Highlanders repeat as City champs

It was tougher than expected, but top-seeded Granada Hills won the City Section Division I girls’ volleyball championship for the second consecutive year, outlasting second-seeded Carson, 25-19, 25-12, 22-25, 23-25, 15-12, Saturday at Roybal Learning Center.

Third-seeded Palisades swept fourth-seeded Sun Valley Poly, 25-15, 26-24, 25-15, to win its first Division II title and 26th overall.

In the Small School Division final, top-seeded Elizabeth Learning Center defeated second-seeded Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies in three sets, 25-19, 25-11, 25-22.
