What would happen if Corona Centennial falls behind in its budding cross-town rivalry against Corona Roosevelt when the teams meet tonight at Roosevelt?

It’s hard to tell given that the prolific Huskies (9-0 overall, 6-0 Big VIII League) have not trailed in any of their nine victories. Centennial set a school scoring record last week with an 82-21 victory over Corona in which the Huskies could have added to their tally had they not missed a pair of extra points.

Roosevelt (8-1, 5-1), in only its fourth varsity season, has defeated every Big VIII League rival except Centennial.

‘That’s our goal,’ Mustangs Coach Bill Stacy said of beating the Huskies. ‘We know the Big VIII and CIF titles go through Centennial.’
