Football: San Clemente makes defensive stand

Lakewood quarterback Tyler Schultz threw incomplete on fourth-and-goal at the six-yard line and San Clemente has taken over on downs with just over two minutes left in the first half.

The Lancers were all set to attempt a 28-yard field goal when San Clemente was flagged for offsides, moving the line of scrimmage five yards closer. Lakewood called a timeout and decided to go for the touchdown.

Lakewood still leads, 10-0, but missed a golden opportunity to extend its lead.
