Football: Regional playoffs won’t happen in 2011

A CIF Regional Championship football proposal was discussed at the Federated Council meeting on Monday in Ontario, but it won’t come up for a first reading until February, which means there won’t be any regional playoffs until 2012 at the earliest.
When the plan is finalized by the CIF Football Advisory Committee, it should receive lots of scrutiny.
And my question is, do schools really want to approve a 16-game schedule for a limited group of teams?
That’s too many games and too many opportunities for injuries.
