Football: Here's why Servite has 19-game win streak

November 2, 2010 | 10:20 am

For those who wonder how Anaheim Servite (8-0) keeps winning, the answer is simple: The Friars keep coming up with players who step up in big games.

What's most impressive about Servite's 19-game winning streak is how the Friars never let an injury give them an excuse to lose.

Last season, when linemen Troy Niklas and Kirifi Leuta-Taula went down with injuries, others came in and made contributions.

This season, when running back Sean DeRosa was injured, in came Malik Felton, who has rushed for 186 and 188 yards in his last two games.
