Football: Fan frenzy in Mission Viejo

Who said there would be time for a post-Thanksgiving shopping spree in Mission Viejo?

I got to Saddleback College 3 1/2 hours before kickoff was scheduled for the Mission Viejo-Santa Margarita Pac-5 Division playoff game on Friday, and I definitely wasn’t the first to be at the stadium.

There are dozens of colorful beach towels on the side of Santa Margarita bleachers and Mission Viejo bleachers, with fans apparently showing up at 10 a.m. and earlier to reserve their seats.

Now that’s passion. I’m sure the players are going to be as intense as the fans.
