Football: Dorsey is trying to get its receivers healthy
Los Angeles Dorsey is 9-0 going into its Coliseum League showdown on Friday against Crenshaw, and the Dons are hoping to get back from injuries receivers Marvin Hall (ankle sprain) and Jaydon Mickens (broken toe).
I don't know how Dorsey Coach Paul Knox is going to prevent those two standouts from playing. He might need to hide their helmets and shoulder pads.
"If they can play, they'll be out there," Knox said.
This game is going to come down to whether Dorsey's offensive line can block Crenshaw's powerful and quick defensive line. If it happens, quarterback Joseph Gray will be able to move the ball.
Whatever happens, the alumni are going to be in the stands and on the sideline talking and having fun. And watching and listening to them is worth the price of admission.

Hold on Colt stomp, lets not forget Crenshaw has always been a basketball school, but now that Crenshaw has been running the city football team yal want to bring up the past. Hey dont be upset because we done came into yal sport and now we are dominating. And what do you want the Shaw to do wait 1nce every ten yrs to go to the finals like yal do, naw buddy. Bring the SPL back, are you kidding me, dude what are you 40 45 yrs old, im 31 and you talking bout the Southern Pacific League, lol man we must of did yal wrong them yrs for you to still be talking bout the SPL, I bet yo be on facebook looking for your 3rd grade love also. While yal were at home last yr the Shaw was atleast in a bowl, other than eating capt crunch out a bowl. As of today Crenshaw is the best team the city has period until somebody in the city beats them. The only thing Carson is good for now is Loompa!

@ My Dorsey Foes,
Don't think the run is about to end anytime soon! Our JV has a 35 game winning streak going. So there are championships on the line for both JV/Varsity. If we had any kind of a coach, we should have won City the last three years. That's wishful thinking. Friday can't get here quick enough! I hope we both end up playing each other at the Coliseum, but we know the City officials won't place us in opposite brackets. It's all good we will look forward to playing you all at our house in the semi's.

Coleslaw don't run nothing but their mouths. Yes Coleslaw has won the last few years but we (Dorsey) have embarrassed and abused you guys for so long. I know why you say NOW that you run the city and this and that but where were you same people talking all this crap been the last 20 years. That DDP family is strong and we will be there deep on Friday. So let the games begin. I think it hurts the Coleslaw Alumni so much that they couldn't see us back in their day that they wanna make up for it now. lmao It's all good ! 11/12/10.

@ Crenshaw Nation, this weeks game gone feel like old times.. You know, like the kind we played in - in 1982? Can you remember that? I can.. I too played for Dorsey in 1982. I think we finished as the 3A Champions.. If I can recall, Our team Defeated you and Carson that year.. But that was then - and this is now. Us Dons knew 3 years ago that we had 4 years of Terror coming our way from this Great 2011 Class at Crenshaw. But so far just 1 City Title.. Thou your run at a State Championship was ground breaking and should be Respected?.. You still lost! You have one more Season to get it done.. If not? ---> It's back to being just a Basketball School. Dorsey is Undefeated at both JV and Varsity and the return to City Dominance is Eminent!!! That's DDP4LIFE!!! See ya Friday!!!

I was actually talking about that last meeting b/w Carson and Crenshaw at the Coliseum when Carson beat Coach Garrett's team in '99!Any time, any era we got Crenshaw's #! Believe that! We run the City! I only got in this thread when I read the bogus claim made by the Shaw. We will meet up in the Semis or Final and see who will run this new decade!

How did Carson and Birmingham get in on this South Central LA smack down? Birmingham you guys are an after thought. I mean your program is the pits now. Crenshaw even when we weren't winning has always been competitive. Carson, I played on that 1982 team when Mr. Al Washington went (Vince Young) on us and beat us at the Coliseum. You guys are trying to regain your history, just like our basketball team is trying to regain ours. No need in bringing up the past, let's deal with right now! Right now the City title runs through Crenshaw. Don't forget that!

It's comedy to read the cockiness from crenshaw fans as if someone is scared of you! You haven't proved anything and when you could have you lost to those teams this year.
Your sacks don't drag that low cause you aren't true hogs! When you win more than four city championships you'll then be allowed to step in the class of true city hogs over the decades. I.E. Dorsey, carson!
For the record DDP don't like carson either, but we despise crenshaw!
Be careful what we ask for? LOL! Comedy! We're standing right here feet planted with heads held high to the finish! See it through!

Easy Gee Dee, you don't know much about city football clearly. While the Birmingham 07 team was a great team, and played a challenging schedule, once a upon a time in the city, there were amazing teams, that took on all comers and beat them all. Carson in 88 ranked #1 nationally, beat all their Southern Section foes and had more than a dozen scholarship athletes, as well as numerous professional players. Banning in 1983 did the same, as did the 91 Dorsey (can't remember if they were undefeated) team. Like Birmingham these teams played tough schedules, but their production of college all-americans and professional athletes is what sets them apart. Before I call a one loss Birmingham team the greatest or one of them, I'll wait for Milton Knox to win the starting position on his college team, like Erroll Sapp, Jamelle Holieway, and Lamont Warren did for their teams.

Crenshaw never ran the City and last year was maybe your first Division 1/4A Championship EVER! I was there at the Coliseum when the Mighty Colts beat Crenshaw in the 4A Championship. Even the Crenshaw Bears in Snoops league are on our sac and renamed themselves the Crenshaw Colts! Don't have us bring the Southern Pacific League Back! Be careful watch yall wish for!

ES,
The trash talking that has been going on from the alumni has been off the charts! I think the alumni has more passion about this game than the students. You should read the cramp that Dorsey is putting out on Facebook. Facebook and Twitter are really reuniting many alumni, so expect a huge crowd on Friday night! We want all of Dorsey's players healthy! There should not be any excuses whatsoever. We play in a cupcake league (Coliseum) and the competition has gotten worst. The Commissioners office really need to realigned the leagues. Every league game we've played this season has had to have a running clock in the second half. So let's hope that this game won't get out of hand, and that there won't be a running clock in the second half. Crenshaw Nation will be in full affect Friday night!!!

They (DORKEY) will need all players healthy, plus some! They have been talking so much trash; it’s not even funny... We own them, and the only thing they have to run is their mouth. We saw your DDP Zone… No worries, we’re healthy and hungry. It will be like a home game for us because we travel deeper then their home support anyhow. Guaranteed win! Oh! Seed us anywhere; we want anybody who thinks they are better then the mighty COUGARS!!! As far as Carson is concerned, keep putting your foot in your mouth. In other words, be carful what you ask for…
