There are certain things you can count on during a football season: Long Beach Poly will have lots of speed, Anaheim Servite players will hit like an NFL team and Huntington Beach Edison will find a way to be competitive.

Yes, Coach Dave White is at it again at Edison. I pretty much had given up on the Chargers before the season when they lost their best running back to academic ineligibility and their starting quarterback was briefly sidelined while battling CIF officials.

But Edison is 7-2 overall and 4-0 in the Sunset League going into its league title decider Thursday night against Los Alamitos (7-2) at Long Beach Veterans Stadium.

As always, White finds ways to get his players to succeed, and the Chargers keep improving, which makes them a dangerous team. Los Alamitos remains the favorite, but if the Chargers are healthy, beware.
