Football: Crenshaw-Dorsey should be fun
The City Section gets lots of flak for some of the strange things that happen on and off the sports field, but Friday night's football game between Crenshaw and Dorsey should bring out the best in City athletics.
There will be so many top athletes on the field, with alumni in the stands and on the sideline. It should be a great atmosphere at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
And there's some terrific players with strong academics in the game. Jeremiah Allison from Dorsey has 21 sacks and straight-As. Yohance Salimu of Crenshaw has a 3.8 GPA and wants to attend Air Force.
So there will be lots of smack going on, but it's time to admire and salute the schools and players participating in a game that should be good for the community and the City Section. I'm looking forward to being there.

This should be a very good game. A spotlight for the City Section.

Less than 24 hours and friendships are on hold, community is divided, and the barber shops are the best place to be to hear the real trash talking! I normally refrain from talking trash, but these green people really think that they are going to blow us out! Are they crazy? "Come on man" I've seen Dorsey play three times this year. Here is the first question. Who from Dorsey can keep up with the Black Mamba? This foolishness from Dorsey has to stop! Last time I checked, your seniors for the last three years have been trying to tackle the Black Mamba and it still hasn't happen. We won't even talk about the other cast of Cougars who play to the same level as Mr. 16. The JV game will be just as exciting as the Varsity game. We have players playing JV that could start for any other team in the City. Let's strap it up and let's ball!
