Football: Ayala quarterback Caleb Cabrillo recovering

Chino Hills Ayala quarterback Caleb Cabrillo, who was airlifted to Loma Linda Medical Center after sustaining a concussion during the Bulldogs' 36-8 loss to Chino Hills on Thursday, is resting at home, Ayala Coach Tom Inglima said Saturday.

"It seems like he's going to be fine," Inglima said. "The CAT scan was clean and there's no spinal issues."

Cabrillo, verbally unresponsive after being hit in the third quarter, was released at 3 a.m. Friday. His mind was still on football after the game.

"He was apologetic about not being able to get the offense moving, and I was pretty amazed by that," Inglima said. "He's a tough kid."

Really??? I never saw this information in the paper. I take the LA Times and never saw this articel, what is up with that?? Has the LA Times forgotten about the Inland Empire? It should have been reported, as it was on KCal9, that this palyer recieved a standing ovation from from the Chino Hills High School fans as well as the Ayala fans upon his airlift. All players and parents were very concerned about Caleb and many, both Chino Hills High School, and Ayala High School coaches, parents, and players went to the hospital following the game to make sure he was ok. My information indicates he had a major concussion and should avoid all contact sports for three months.
