Boys' basketball: Taft's Taylor still not pleased with City Section

November 21, 2010 |  2:02 pm

Woodland Hills Taft Coach Derrick Taylor said he has no problem with his former player, Landon Drew, being declared eligible to play for Fairfax after receiving a hardship waiver from the City Section, but he continues to criticize what he believes are inconsistencies in the process.

"My concern is the district doesn't have any clear guidelines on how they make any decision," Taylor said.

Taft has moved on after Drew's transfer and put together lineup that makes the Toreadors the clear favorite to win the City Section Division I championship.

Colorado-bound point guard Spencer Dinwiddie is teaming with 6-foot-5 transfer C.J. Blackwell from Georgia, along with 6-10 Kevin Johnson, who sat out last season after transferring from Gardena Serra.

The Toreadors had a scrimmage on Saturday against several teams, including Compton, and encountered little difficulty.
