Boys’ basketball: Mounier leads Crespi to upset of Orange Lutheran

Matt Mounier scored 19 points and had 10 rebounds as Encino Crespi, ranked No. 24 by The Times, knocked off No. 11 Orange Lutheran, 55-47, in a nonleague game at Orange Lutheran.

Chris Connelly added 14 rebounds for the Celts, who could get even stronger if guard Michael Avery wins his CIF appeal. The Celts did not have any of their football players yet.

In the Westchester tournament, Carson defeated Dorsey, 67-60; St. Bernard defeated Morningside, 75-69; Peninsula defeated Windward, 57-52.

In the Redondo tournament, Chaunce Hill scored 15 points and Laik Carter had 14 as Fairfax defeated Compton Dominguez, 54-51. No. 1 Long Beach Poly defeated Santee, 98-23, with Ryan Anderson and Alex Carmon scoring 23 points apiece.

In the Campbell Hall tournament, David Nwaba had 25 points in L.A. University’s 64-22 win over Canoga Park. Calabasas defeated Blair, 76-34. Campbell Hall got 27 points and 10 rebounds from Cole Huff, 20 points from K.J. Smith and 12 points, 10 assists and 10 steals from Austin McBroom in a 72-35 win over Sun Valley Poly.
