Boys' basketball: Long Beach Poly is ranked No. 13 nationally

Long Beach Poly is ranked No. 13 in the preseason ESPN RISE boys' basketball national rankings.

But what's the point of the rankings when Finley Prep from Henderson, Nev., is ranked No. 1 but isn't really a high school team since it takes players from everywhere? Among the new players is Amir Garrett, who played last season at Lawndale Leuzinger.

Woodland Hills Taft is No. 22 and Santa Ana Mater Dei No. 43.

So Basically your saying is no other team is important since its not number one ? Frankly I think that isn't fair. These young men try very hard to be good at a sport where they could easily get hurt. Since Finley Prep "isn't really a high school team since it takes players from everywhere", shouldnt they not play against a high school team who is a "real team"?
