Boys’ basketball: Get ready for a Taft-Westchester final

The high school basketball season begins on Monday, Nov. 29, and the Westchester tournament is a good place to start seeing top teams.

City Section Division I title favorite Woodland Hills Taft opens against Los Angeles King Drew at 7:30 p.m. Defending champion Westchester plays on Nov. 30 against West Torrance at 7:30 p.m. Taft and Westchester should meet in the championship game on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m.

Other first-round games on Nov. 29: Washington vs. Manual Arts, 3 p.m.; Leuzinger vs. Community Charter, 4:30 p.m.; Alemany vs. Hawthorne, 6 p.m. On Nov. 30, St. Bernard vs. Morningside, 3 p.m.; Peninsula vs. Windward, 4:30 p.m.; Dorsey vs. Carson, 6 p.m.
