Los Angeles Fairfax might have the best backcourt in City Section basketball. The only problem is the players aren’t eligible.

Landon Drew, a junior transfer from Woodland Hills Taft, and Brendyn Taylor, a junior transfer from Los Angeles View Park Prep, are both seeking hardship waivers to be eligible this season. If they don’t get it, college recruiters might still show up just to watch practice.

Both were starters as sophomores for their respective teams. Each lives in the San Fernando Valley. Taylor’s father, Brian, is no longer coaching at View Park and has given up his administrative position at View Park. He has been replaced by Don Turner, a former Redondo assistant. Drew’s father, Larry, is the coach of the Atlanta Hawks.

They’ll form quite a backcourt this season or next season depending on the ruling of City Section Commissioner Barbara Fiege.
