One of the most intriguing teams during the upcoming basketball season could be Woodland Hills El Camino Real, which lost in last season’s City Section Division III final to Verdugo Hills.

The Conquistadores, coming off a 17-12 season, return 6-foot-7 Temjae Singleton, who can score from anywhere on the court.

But the focus will be on a trio of freshmen players _ 6-2 Julian Richardson, 5-10 Maleke Haynes and 6-2 Evan Wardlow.

Richardson is the son of former NBA guard Pooh Richardson. Haynes is the brother of former Woodland Hills Taft and Oregon State guard Calvin Haynes. El Camino Real could challenge Chatsworth for second place in the West Valley League behind City Division I title favorite Taft.
