There’s no bigger deal for Encino Crespi baseball alumni than the annual over-the-line tournament run by Coach Scott Muckey during Thanksgiving weekend. This year, there were 42 teams.

And some major leaguers aren’t happy today because their team lost, and they have some explaining to do back home.

The winning team was made up of Ron Lauer, Luke Worgan, Mike Jordt and Matt Wilson.

How the Plouffe brothers finished only fifth is not going over well in the family.

And when asked what team pitcher Jeff Suppan played on, Muckey didn’t have an answer. ‘It’s hard to tell because there’s about eight Suppans,’ he said.

There’s always next year for the losing teams. And watch out. The Luderer brothers couldn’t play but will be back. Two of the three brothers are in the over-the-line hall of fame.

The newest members of this year’s HOF are Marshall Plouffe and Warren Plouffe.
