Softball: Valencia has a freshman phenom

Without having played a single high school softball game, freshman catcher Madeline Jelenicki from Valencia already has scholarship offers from Arizona and UCLA, among others. And she just turned 15.

That’s because she has been a standout in club softball.

And just wait until she plays for Valencia this spring.

‘Definitely an impact player,’ Coach Donna Lee said. ‘She’s very talented.’
