Teenagers sometimes need sports to open their eyes to the possibility of college. That’s why so much fuss is made to save sports from cutbacks.

Take the case of Jeremi Ross from Hollywood High. He showed up at Hollywood in December of his freshman year with all Fs. Now, as a junior, after being motivated by football, he’s a team captain.
