Football: Troy Starr is doing quite well at Helix

There is life after the City Section. Former Woodland Hills Taft Coach Troy Starr, in his third season at La Mesa Helix, is 6-0 and one of the favorites in San Diego Section Division II.

Starr was known for his wide-open offenses, brash comments and tough-luck losses in City championship games. But he knew how to coach, and Helix could be headed for an unbeaten season.
