Football: Thousands of fans ready for Westlake-Oaks Christian showdown

Getting set just before the 8:30 p.m. kickoff between two cross-town teams that will play each other for the first time tonight: Westlake of Thousand Oaks vs. Oaks Christian of Westlake Village.

This matchup of Marmonte League teams that are separated by just a mile has brought out a big crowd. Most of the parking lots anywhere near Oaks Christian have been full for hours. The schools have limited the number of tickets to 6,000, and all those sold out Friday morning. About 50 media credentials have been granted as well.

Both teams are on the field warming up. The weather is perfect, the stands look jammed to capacity, and the sidelines are starting to fill up with those carrying guest passes.
