Don’t anyone doubt that Ventura St. Bonaventure Coach Todd Therrien doesn’t have a powerful arm. He admits throwing his cellphone against a wall after the Seraphs’ 33-32 overtime loss to Oaks Christian on Sept. 17.

‘My wife wasn’t happy,’ Therrien said.

Neither were sportswriters who couldn’t contact Therrien for several days.

But he and St. Bonaventure have recovered nicely. The Seraphs showed they learned a lesson, rallying last week for a 28-25 victory over Moorpark in which receiver Christian White caught eight passes for 180 yards and three touchdowns.

And the next time St. Bonaventure quarterback Marc Evans needs someone to demonstrate how to throw a spiral, Therrien can help out throwing a football instead of his cellphone.
