Football: Southern Section finalizes ball contract

The Southern Section has announced ball contracts for seven sports over five years that will generate more than $330,000 in sponsorship income.

Schools must use the sponsored products during playoff action.

Spalding will continue as the ball sponsor for basketball, football, soccer, softball and volleyball. Rawlings will continue for baseball. In water polo, Kap7International will be the sponsor for boys and girls beginning in the fall of 2011.

The balls program saves $567 for schools on dues, according to a Southern Section release.
