MLM, your are correct Cathedral does not have the players to compete with Chaminade. More importantly they don't have the coaching. Add to that we have supporters who think we should have stayed in the Del Rey League to compete with teams that we could blast on a any Friday night. People think we aren't ready for the big boys yet? Really? When will we ever be ready? It starts with coaching! Good luck to the Nade!

Wow...What a great game... well great ending.. lots of drama and etc... Im no too sure either of these teams are ready to compete in the Mission league. Should have stayed within the Del Rey League and battled down there... There not ready for the big boys yet

Butta. Re-reading my post, you're right, I sound like "one of those arrogant Chaminade fans". It was late. If Cathedral wins out they deserve a #2 seed in the playoffs. I know they played Serra better than anyone last year which is concerning. I'm just not sure they have the dudes, the lower level pipeline, or the pre-season schedule to get in the top 3. Ever. They are in above their heads until they prove they belong. I commend you for being a die-hard loyal fan. Respect.

Mission League Mogul, Apparently you are unfamiliar with the way things work in regards to playoffs. HW is most definitely out of the race. Cathedral, on the other hand can still make it. Yes they will lose to Serra, but so will everyone else in league. If Cathedral wins the rest of their games then there will be a tie for second place. You sound like one of those arrogant Chaminade fans.

The "well played Mission league games" are the one's with playoffs on the line. This game was for LAST PLACE in the Mission League! The seasons are over for both HW and CHS. We just need them so we get 3 teams in the playoffs instead of 2. If a tree falls in the forest....

All I know is that I don't condone any of the following: adults accusing kids of things they didn't do, sore losers, kids swinging at adults trying to break up a fight, and most importantly I don't condone the use of the N word.

Not Suprised You are talking crap about the Bell jeff Cathedral brawl in 1994. I was there and why don't you mention that a Bell-Jeff player called Cathedral RB Omar Garnett The N-word. That's what started that.

Not true I talked to Haden this morning and he said he did not know anything about that. I also talked to Coach pearson and he did not see anything even on film. I think those rich arrogant people at Harvard Westlake were just pissed by the loss and feel they are above cathedral people.

I have mixed feelings. I totally believe it's possible a Cathedral kid would do this, BUT I also think we should extend some trust to socalBB that he or she saw what he saw. If it's not true, socalBB just accused a kid of something pretty bad. Maybe not by name but anyone could look up who the Cathedral QB is. Let's be careful here.
In the earlier part of the 2000's I personally witnessed Cathedral get into a bench clearing fight on their home field and players were literally swinging helmets at adults.

Soalbb: Are you a witness to this alleged incident?
None of the few people I checked with so far saw what you described. There were lots of kids running on the field so if it happened perhaps only the H-W fans saw it.

I'm a CHS alum, but didn't see the game last night. If the CHS QB did as you said, that's deplorable. Over the years, CHS has been the victim of inappropriate behavior at some of the schools it has visited, which should be all the more reason for CHS NOT to behave poorly when they win.

A well played Mission League contest between Cathedral and Harvard Westlake came down to the last second. After HW missed a field goal that would have tied the game Cathedral celebrated their come from behind victory. This was all fine until the classless Cathedral quarterback #11 sprinted to the HW side of the field and flipped the fans off with both hands in the air. Hopefully someone has this move on film and Cathedral can review and take the appropriate actions. Not a very Christian thing to do!!!!!!?
