Both teams kept the ball on the ground in the fourth quarter, which was fine for Santa Ana Mater Dei, which capitalized on two early turnovers and never looked back, defeating host Huntington Beach Edison, 27-7, at Orange Coast College.

Edison, ranked No. 16 in The Times’ Top 25 poll, struggled on offense for the second straight game, having been stymied by No. 3 Anaheim Servite last week. Mater Dei has put together back-to-back impressive wins over ranked opponents since losing its first two games.
