It’s been a defensive struggle so far at Angel Stadium.

Santa Ana Mater Dei and Anaheim Servite are tied 7-7 at halftime.

Neither team has converted a third down yet and they have combined for seven punts (four by Servite, three by Mater Dei). Mater Dei has gained eight first downs to Servite’s three.

Servite quarterback Cody Pittman has completed five of eight passes for 32 yards and has rushed six times for 28 yards. Running back Malik Felton has just eight yards in seven carries.

Mater Dei quarterback Max Wittek has completed seven of 14 passes for 57 yards and two interceptions. Running back Corbin Anderson has 53 yards in 11 carries.

It’s a typical hard-hitting, defensive struggle between these Trinity League rivals.
