Football: Long Beach Poly fans are getting restless

It’s 2 1/2 hours before Long Beach Poly plays Lakewood in a Moore League game, and I can tell Poly fans are getting restless. I’m walking down the steps at Veterans Stadium, and a fan complains about Poly’s coaching.

The Jackrabbits are 3-2 and have been routed twice at home, so that has fans concerned. But Coach Raul Lara is used to criticism. He gets it every season. These fans demand championships, and Poly has won 18 Southern Section titles.

But they need a little patience. Let’s see if Poly makes improvement. That’s how players and coaches should be judged.
