Football: Lakewood, L.B. Poly join forces for breast cancer cure

The student leadership at Lakewood and Long Beach Poly will be using Friday’s football game between the two schools to raise funds for the cure of breast cancer.

There will be competition in the stands to see which school can bring in the most donations during the 7 p.m. Moore League game at Veterans Stadium.

Also, at 6:45 p.m., Lakewood and Poly staff members who are breast cancer survivors will be honored on the field.

Football players will be wearing pink bandanas under their helmets and pink ribbon stickers on their helmets. Pink foam footballs will be tossed into the stands.
