Football: Hawthorne ends 45-game losing streak

The third longest on-field losing streak in state history has come to an end. Hawthorne came away with a 27-22 victory over Lynwood Firebaugh on Saturday.

Hawthorne’s last on-field victory was over Inglewood on Oct. 28, 2005. Hawthorne picked up a forfeit victory in 2006.

The state record for longest losing streak is 49 games by Pomona Ganesha (2003-08).
