Football: Defensive stand keeps Edison alive

October 1, 2010 |  9:00 pm

Santa Ana Mater Dei kicker Brett Parker missed a 25-yard field goal with 9:57 left in the fourth quarter, but host Huntington Beach Edison still trails 27-7 at Orange Coast College.

Mater Dei had a first-and-goal at the Chargers' five-yard line but two running plays produced negative yardage and quarterback Max Wittek threw incomplete on third down, setting up the field goal try.
