Football: Darreus Rogers is a star in the making

The receiver position in Southern California is just loaded with talent.

And I saw another future college player on Friday in Carson's Darreus Rogers, a junior who made seven catches for 164 yards and one touchdown in a 42-21 loss to Mission Viejo.

He's tall, athletic, fast, has great hands and stays within himself. He had some terrific battles with Mission Viejo's standout defensive back Ethan DeSilva.

Carson showed me enough to make the Colts the favorite to win the Marine League. As for City Section Division I, the No. 1 playoff seed will likely come from the Crenshaw-Dorsey winner on Nov. 12.

But don't think Carson Coach Elijah Asante won't come to the seeding meeting putting his team up for No. 1 if it sweeps through the Marine League. Now that's going to be fun, Asante debating Crenshaw's Robert Garrett. I might have to bring a video camera.

phenoms

I agree Alo a better QB than preston of Serra! Serra got lucky that Narbonne didn't adjust soon enough to put a beating on them that is coming to them next year @ Narbonne those D3 Cavs can't even win a D1 title and their talking their all that good! They don't play D1 teams every week like Carson & Narbonne!

Hey DJ

Im glad i got a chance to witness mr rogers in person at the mission viejo carson game, this kid is the best ive seen even better than serras duo!
