Football: Crespi hopes to unveil $250,000 video board

Video If all goes as planned, Encino Crespi will unveil its new $250,000 video board and scoreboard for Friday night's Serra League game against Mission Hills Alemany.

A sophomore game on Thursday was supposed to be used to try out both boards.

TODHD is the title sponsor for the boards, with corporate and private donations also paying for the boards.

There are two separate boards, one for timing and the other video. There had been a delay because a crane wasn't big enough to put up the video board.

But everything is supposed to work, and Crespi has as many as eight cameras to use to show video from games.

Good luck fitting into the tiny Crespi press box, however. At least two people will have to run the new boards.

Are you kidding me? A $250,000 cartoon monitor? Went to game today and it only shows cartoon skits. No replays?

On the other hand - in such tough economic times maybe the $250k could have been spent on a more noble cause? Scholarships? Teacher compensation? Oops I forgot football rules! Sounds like the other school off the 110 Fwy.

Wow nice looking scoreboard our school needs one like that.
